There were a lot of industry standard practices that the team just didn’t know about. However, the developers Lightmare Studios were a very small, young studio.

Free tier 30 or 38: Shards cost reduced to 1x. Maybe but price reductions in the BP? Free tier 14: Shards cost reduced to 2x. It could also be regular cost for BP owners but it would increas the gap between Veterans and new players. Rich players can sink shards if they want to get it early and the others don't have to wait a whole 2 months before they get on the regular cost. Maybe making it regular cost after 2 or 4 weeks would be a good balance. A 6000 shards Legendary is pretty much exclusive to the Veteran or lucky players. I think that lowering the crafting cost is a better idea. Giving guaranteed Legendaries to them would allow them to stock even more gold and shards than they already can.

The most hardcore players can get buy every Battle Pass almost for free by getting to Diamond in all 3 rankings and the Ruby rewards of the BP. More guaranteed would be nice but guaranteed Legendaries would make them too easy to get and make the Battle Pass too valuable. I think the system is fine but could be better.
